I agree. It’s still too early to say that the voice acting sucks. We don’t know anything about the HD Collection, we haven’t seen any footage yet. Hopefully they will show some teasers or trailers soon.

Also, i wouldn’t say that Konami created Silent Hill. I would say that Team Silent – the people who actually worked on the game – created it. Konami just gives them the money. Those people who sit in their expensive leather chairs and sip at Whisky are not directly involved in the creative process of actually creating the game.

There was one last thing that i wanted… OH YEAH… FUCK!

    2. avatar Cal says:

One piece of evidence for the notion that the HD collection isn’t necessary is that the games already look amazingly good. With “updated” graphics, the game will just look shinier.

      • avatar Whitney says:

Actually when I played SH2 and SH3 recently on my HD television they didn’t look so hot. That really only applies if you have the PC versions.

      • avatar Isaac says:

LMAO DUDE!! You said the exact same thing when it was first announced. And I already thoroughly dissected why it IS necessary (Recap of E3). Whether you like it or not, they are coming out and I, for one, couldn’t be happier.

    3. avatar Isaac says:

Great podcast and good job Cj!
OK, so I think in between all the raging anger, in-your-face insults, and…bloopers of drawn out laughter, TwinPerfect may have a point with new voice overs. Regardless of how bad the voice work was originally, it was apart of the whole product. And regardless of how the new voice overs fare, we’d still be losing a part of what made it what it was. For the older fans, it’s about preserving that. And for newer fans, it’s about enabling them to experience it for themselves. It won’t be the same, and the more they change, the less it is what it once was; a masterpiece.

      • avatar Whitney says:

See that makes sense and I understand why a lot of people are bummed with the new voices. I was too at first but then I realized it could be even better then before and I should wait to see before I make the call. My main beef is with the blind hatred of something we haven’t seen or experienced yet. Wait before going for the fire and pitchforks! :D

    4. avatar Leasowe says:

This is a good listen. Don’t really disagree with much of it.
Might go back and see what else you talk about.
      Keep them coming!

    5. avatar AblazeReaper says:

Typical normal bullshit from especially a cunt like CJ. Go suck Tom Hulets cock you faggot. Defenders of anything, idiots.

      • avatar Whitney says:

Sorry you didn’t enjoy the podcast :( Our main point was just to wait for the final product before bringing on the hate, that’s all. If you don’t like the collection just don’t buy it and the reply the PS2/Xbox and PC versions.

      • avatar cj says:

Sorry I have a different opinion on the fans that you. I guess treating the series like my religion and hating everything that I hear about it is better than expecting positive things, or you know, waiting for more info before I complain like a disturbed person.

A response like that further proves the rabid mindset the fans of the series have to deal with.

    6. avatar AblazeReaper says:

At least of one the people here was a decent voice of reasoning, one of the girls (with the good mic), the other was just sprouting out ignorant bullshit like expected.

    7. avatar AblazeReaper says:

and as a small note : that silent hill vs God thing was obviously a joke, it’s a bad way of trying to invalidate everyone who does not like the new changes in the series and try to make them look crazy. Read the silent hill vs god thread, it’s so obvious that it is a joke.

      • avatar Whitney says:

True, it was a bad example and I know it was a joke it was just something I read recently and it popped into my head at the time I shouldn’t have brought it up…

    8. avatar GoLd says:

You shouldn’t pay too much attention to trolls like AblazeReaper. Obviously he didn’t have anything constructive to say, so i would suggest to delete his unnecessary insults. You can delete this message aswell after that.

      • avatar Whitney says:

Thanks for the support GoLd :) but I won’t be deleting his comments since we do welcome both good and bad criticism here.

        • avatar miriam says:

well, telling CJ to suck Tom Hueletts cunt doesn’t sound like critisism to me, but i think that statement is so childish it shouldn’t even be taken seriously to remove anyways. i loved the podcast, been weating for it for weeks and wish you would’ve gone on for another hour.

and for the record, i really loved CJ and i’m kind of hard to get by the heart from new hosts, usually takes me a few episodes to let them in’. hope you’ll have him on more!

    9. avatar CurtisCraig says:

      1. I would say my biggest problem is that all of you stereotyped Silent Hill fans as crazed bi-polar freaks… I don’t know about the people you surround yourself with, but I don’t think the people I know all take medication and stake out Konami HQ.

      2. Guy Cihi has a problem that you guys outlined quite well. It could easily be argued that he’s requesting payment for the same service twice.

      3. For later games like Shattered Memories… I mean, it’s not a bad game, but the whole “it’s all in your head”… it’s not a Silent Hill game the same way 1,2,3 and 4 were.

Just saying, if you’re just gonna be condescending guttersnipes to fans, don’t expect a positive response.

      • avatar Whitney says:

Hi Curtis, thanks for listening to the podcast!

We know not all fans are like that but there’s been a big outcry lately on the forums and on facebook about Korn’s involvement and the state of the HD collection…same thing happened last year when DP was announced. We were just a little frustrated with all the negativity lately and I know this came through on the podcast a bit :( Really we just wish fans would wait for a final product before they put together the petitions or write off the series completely.

    10. avatar Joe says:

Wow, i can’t believe i stumbled upon a podcast that not only is Silent Hill start-to-finish, but also isn’t chock full of the typical whiny reactionary self-appointed Silent Hill traditionalists who can’t handle a new idea without soiling themselves and pretty much live only to hear the sound of their own complaining. Congrats on a great production, i’ll be listening faithfully from now on.

    11. avatar TheRedNurse says:

Can’t wait for the new podcast :D

    12. avatar Avianna says:

Just wanted to say this was my first time listening to the show all the way through and it was totally worth it. I’m gonna have to go back through and listen to some earlier episodes now while I wait for the new one.

I really like that fact that you guys aren’t… what you call ‘Purists.’ Its refreshing to listen to people who have been with the series for the beginning but don’t get all “Back in my day, I had to walk up Silent Hill, in both worlds.” *Waves Cane* I thought for a long time I may one of the only ones.

I mean sure. I’ve hated some of the stuff the new games have pulled, but its better then not having Silent Hill in my life at all. And you guys see that, and that’s why I official and in love with your show.

      • avatar Silent Evil says:

Please do, I implore you listen to the earlier shows. Like the ones I was actually part of. I believe my perspective on the series and the property as a whole is quite clearly conveyed.

I do not know exactly what your definition of ‘Purist’ is.

        • avatar Avianna says:

They were talking about the ‘Purists’ in this recent show. What I mean by Purists is the people that really think that only SH1-3 are Silent Hill. And the others are just shit on the bottom of their shoe.

ALSO in response to my previous statement… OMFG typos. Typos everywhere!

      • avatar Whitney says:

Wow thanks Avianna ( I love your costumes btw) and TheRedNurse! :) ! Can I ask how you guys found our podcast? We are actually recording a new one tonight about all the Gamescom news. I hope to have it up on the site by tomorrow!

        • avatar Avianna says:

I was in the car the other day, cause I was driving 5 hours by myself and I started to make my own Podcast of what I felt about talking to Tom Waltz in person at SDCC and how I feel his comic and Downpour may be the breathe of fresh air the series needed. Mostly because while I appreciate Konami trying new things (and I like some of them), I feel that the last few games have had to many forced things… and Downpour doesn’t seem that way. And because after talking to Tom, I feel alot better about the direction the writing is going. Blah, Blah, Blah. I ramble.

But I was making one for myself and thinking how boring it was to do it by Myself, so I looked up whether there was already a SH Podcast to see what others had done to make a SH Podcast work… and I found yours. And suddenly I don’t feel like it would be appropriate to make one if there is already another one in the works that’s already good.
