The winner of the contest last week to convince us to play through your choice of Silent Hill installments is Isaac! You can read his entry below:

Imma go with one that probably no one will seriously write about. That’s right….Im talking about homewrecking!! …I mean, Homecoming. Now before you delete this due to contempt, hear me out. You want a game to delve into for a podcast, yes? I think this one will be great because it’d be soo easy for destiny to ridicule. I mean Pyramid Head’s cameo, silent hill touring in shepherds glen, & even the human centipede is in there! haha! Now, it may be a headache for you guys but alot of jokes, sighs & akward silences could come out of it which would make for an entertaining podcast. Besides, picking on this game doesn’t mean anything negative, it’s all in good fun & because we care about the property.

It’d also good to defend the game as well. I know how difficult that could be, but homecoming hasn’t really been explored theoretically & thematically the way that older, more beloved chapters have been. So theres open waters here…or lake. Yes, Red Pyramid is James’ own dude but silent hill manifested an image that James had in his mind from pictures of executioners. Why couldn’t that be the case for private hot pants? And Pyramid Head Thing is clearly a separate variation from SH2 (helmets more like the movie). So there could be some healthy debate, new ideas, & maybe some closure for ol Silent Hill: Lackluster.

    If you read into Homecoming just as much as other installments, then you’ll be reading into nothingness.

    i think this is going to be a great game for the review, there is so much to discuss..! i hope you can do more than pick on it though, homecoming has some good things going for it, that some ridiculus things just ruin. which is too bad. can’t wait for this! (i’d also love if you’d have character discussions or similar things in the future.. maybe it’s something more for the forums but i really enjoy listening to you guys, your thoughts and opinions. more fun for me during my walks with ze dog.)
